Hercules
Hercules is the Roman name for the Greek warrior and hero Heracles. Hercules is the son of the Olympian Zeus and a mortal woman named Alcmene. Hercules was a very strong and brave warrior, he was even known as the strongest mortal in the world and was even stronger than many of the Olympians. He was also known for his many different adventures and battles against all kinds of scary creatures. As such a great warrior the symbols of Hercules were the club, nemean lion, and the bow and arrow. One of the biggest myths containing Hercules came later his life when his stepmother Hera drove him to insanity and as a result he killed his own children. After this he sought out forgiveness for his actions from Eurytheus who required him to carry out 10 labors. In this series of quests came some of his most famous adventures including the slaying of the nemean lion. In the end he was eventually required to carry out 12 labors because he received help on one quest and payment on another. The other labors by Hercules were the killing of the Hydra, capture of the Golden Hind of Artemis, capture of the Erymanthian Boar, cleaning the Augean stables, killing of the Stymphalian Birds, capture of the Cretan Bull, stealing of the Mares of Diomedes, obtaining of the girdle of Hippolyta, optaining of the cattle of the monster Geryon, stealing of the apple of the Hesperides, and the capture and return of Cerberus. Another interesting thing about Hercules is that his name means "Glory of Hera" even though his biggest enemy is Hera. In addition to this there are many other interesting facts about Hercules including the fact that his weaknesses were lust and gluttony and that he was born in Crete. In conclusion Hercules was one of if not the greatest warrior ever and he was well known for his extreme bravery and strength.
